Rugby vs The High School Rathgar

After another hearty breakfast and some shopping (sorry parents..) at the Dundrum shopping centre we headed out to get the boys ready for their second fixture against The High School Rathgar.  I'm sure we have raised the Irish economy by at least 30% with the amount spent.  We might have to leave some children behind to bring all the shopping back...

Again the weather wasn't really what we are used to back home and the boys had to do a very good warm up.

After the CUS game the boys executed the structure and phase play much better and seemed to have learnt from their previous errors.  The High School scored first but we came back and Liam Gaillard managed to spot a gap in the opposition defence structure and dot down a try under the poles giving Cameron Whittington an easy conversion putting us in the lead 7-5.

Unfortunately three unforced errors on our side led to 3 easy tries for The High School and they took the lead 22-7.  After executing multiple phases and aggressive attacking play Marick Baronet scored a try in the right corner taking the score to 22-12.  In the dying moments of the game The High School had a perfect chip and chase and scored under the poles giving The High School the victory 29-12.  The man of the match was shared by Liam Gaillard and Seth Pietersen.  Today's game was yet another physical game and some big hits were made by our boys Tyler Giani, Connor Van Wyk, Liam Long and Marick Baronet.  Some sore bodies tonight but the boys are in high spirits and looking forward to playing their next game.

And don't forget about the gorgeous support!!!!

When we got back to the hotel we were very pleasantly surprised by the Deputy Ambassador of South Africa to Ireland who came to pay us a visit.  Mr Willie Van Der Westhuizen has been based in Dublin for the last 3 and a half years and will be returning to South Africa in June.
He wished us well on our tour and our remaining matches.
We were so privileged to have met him.  Thank you Mr Van Der Westhuizen for taking time out of your very busy schedule to come and meet with us!

Tomorrow morning we will be making our way to Athlone for our 2 night stay with the hosts and games with Athlone Hockey Club and Buccaneers Rugby Club.

A message to everyone out there supporting us, thank you for keeping us in your prayers and following us on the blog!  Missing all at home... but mostly we are missing the REAL sun.
