Up, up, up and away!

After a long 8 hour flight from Durban to Dubai we literally got straight off our plane, hopped on to a bus, made our way to another terminal and walked onto the next 8 hour leg to Dublin!  I can honestly say that the second leg was way more quiet than the first leg...

We finally landed down in Dublin where we met Anthony, our tour guide.  We have been extremely lucky as Anthony was also our guide back in 2014 when we toured to Ireland.  Another surprise was Daniella Bowers and her dad waiting to meet us at the airport! Thank you for the awesome gesture!  The weather was also very kind to us, with a beautiful 8 degrees outside.

We made a short trip to one of the local shopping centres before we booked into the Belvedere Hotel. After a quick bag drop we split into two groups and had a 2 hour walking tour of Dublin with our respective guides.  The tour was amazing, with great sights being visited.  Some of the highlights were Trinity College, The Medieval Irish Castle, City Hall, The river Liffey, Grafton Street, Temple Bar district, Historical landmarks and quint markets.  What a great way to start off our tour!

We are about to make our way to dinner at the hotel and then we will be off to bed for an early night. Our girls will be playing their first fixture tomorrow morning at 11:00 against Monkstown Hockey Club.  We are not entirely sure what strength to expect but we will put up a healthy Marist fight and make everyone at home proud!

We will keep the blog updated as much as possible, with plenty of pics, please feel free to share as much as you want!  Missing you all at home!  Oh yes and don't worry, the hotel's 3-course dinners will ensure the tour party doesn't go hungry.
